The objective for the Mennonite Story digital transformation was to gain revenue and pivot to online services during COVID-19. In order to meet these objectives, the Mennonite Story would require a dedicated website that integrated online booking for museum and community tours with payment through their website.

Laura led a team of recent grads and interns through a 6-week sprint to accomplish this digital transformation. The team included; a web designer, social media marketer, copywriter, graphic designer and ux designer.

We created this website applying a storytelling lens to generate awareness for this unique multimedia center and Mennonite community. Our team worked alongside the client to design and develop a user-friendly booking platform for tourist visits to the Mennonite Story center and surrounding Mennonite community of St. Jacobs.

The Mennonite Story is a multimedia interpretive center describing the lifestyle, culture, and faith of the Old Order Mennonites of the area who still travel by horse & buggy, and the broader Mennonite Church around the world. Audio available in 8 languages: French, Dutch, Arabic, German, Spanish, Mandarin, Korean, Japanese.

The multimedia, wheel chair accessible, interactive center continues to draw over 20,000 visitors from Canada as well as 65 countries from around the world. There are also informative exhibits of photos, artifacts and displays highlighting the history, culture, and religion of Mennonites yesterday and today

The objective is to position the Mennonite Story as the authority on education about the Mennonite culture. We have suggested the client start with a monthly blog to bring the story to a wider audience and thereby create more interest and visitor bookings.

The Mennonite Story endeavors to creatively and respectfully share the history and culture of the Mennonite community, while fostering conversation and reflection from a faith perspective.
